By Gabriel Foster The ocean depths vibrated with life and wonder, The city beneath the waves was alive and its heartbeat, Of people was pumping it full of the life-giving energy, As only they could. Lester looked out the submarine’s window and took in The beauty of the underwater marvel known as aqua city. “I still need an answer Larry, my superiors are eager for any Advantage in winning this war”, Lester said to his friend. Larry spoke somewhat tiresome “old friend! You know the Council will never approve the use of the Omega Crystal In your war that’s going on upon the surface”. “The crystal is a tool of peace and an instrument of prosperity, Not just for my city, but other neighboring cities in the world’s Oceans.”, Larry continued. The submarine made a sharp turn to its left like a sea snake On the hunt, towards the council’s tower. The friends sat across from each other staring intently, Like sharks to see which one would wear the other down. Lester broke the staring duel like shards of glass. “There will be no end to the war unless your omega Crystal tips the balance in our favor.” Larry objected “that’s not entirely true, Develop a peace plan with your adversaries.” Lester laughed “you expect us to win this war with peace?” Larry leaned forward “you expect to win without it?” He continued “let peace be the intelligent angel at the Bargaining table, she will open both sides eyes to the Madness you’ve been fighting over.” Larry continued to inject his wisdom into his friend’s head, “There’re more than enough resources for both sides to Share equally.” “Yet you continue the madness of hurting and killing innocent People” ………. “people who did not ask nor wanted the hell Leaders on both sides placed them in.” Larry calmed down “look! It’s clear that everyone is tired Of the fighting, so why not let history remember you as The man who lit the candle of peace to finally burn the Insanity to the ground.” The submarine continued to speed towards the tower and both Men remained silent for the rest of the trip. However! Lester could not help nor stop the music of his Friend’s words from playing repeatedly in his head with the Melody of both sides conclusion that they were tired of Fighting an unwinnable war.
